The Thoth Tarot DeckThe Thoth Tarot Deck is known as The Book of Thoth or The Egyptian Tarot and was created by Aleister Crowley and Lady Frieda Harris. By creating the Thoth Tarot Deck, Aliester Crowley succeeded in uniting the scheme of the Holy Quabalah; with the Tarot and thus creating the greatest element of all philosophical and magical systems. Crowley's masters introduced him to a skilled artist who had little or no previous knowledge of the Tarot - Lady Freida Harris. (B. 1877 D. 5/11/1962) Lady Harris encouraged the implementation of modern science, mathematics, philosophy and anthropology. He was to produce the whole of his magical mind pictorially on the skeleton of the ancient Qabalastic tradition. The work extended to five years. In the Book of Thoth, which was written for the Thoth Tarot Deck it states, The Tarot is a pictorial representation of the Forces of Nature as conceived by the Ancients. The Sun is a star. Around it revolve a number of bodies called Planets and the moon, a satellite of Earth. These bodies move in one direction only. Our solar system is not a sphere, but a wheel. The Ancients paid very close attention to the imaginary rim. Within the elliptic they conceived that the fixed stars beyond were in a special way connected with the motion of the Sun. This motion was the wheel of the Zodiac. The zodiac of Dandara/(Dendara)is a key to the 4, 400 years before Christ. It is the oldest known complete zodiac chart in the world. It was dynamited from the ceiling of the Temple of Hartor (Hathor) and now resides in the Louvre Museum in France. The zodiac is 8 feet across, carved in relief on the stone. The four fixed signs of the Zodiac, Taurus, Leo, Aquarius and Scorpio are such because they are the pinnacle constellations which revolve in a square within the circle.
They are also known as the Pillars of Heaven. They are also known as the creatures from the vision of Ezekiel. Ezek 1:10 As for the likeness of their faces, they had the face of a MAN (Aquarius), the face of an OX (Taurus), the face of an EAGLE (the higher house of Scorpio) and like a LION (Leo). The four living creatures of Ezekiel are also known as the 4 sons of Osiris, the 4 cardinal points, the four corner points of Heaven and of course the four suites of the Tarot.
